Ruben Amorim called his Manchester United side “maybe the worst team in the history” of the club after they fell to yet another defeat in the Premier League, this time at the hands of Brighton & Hove Albion.
United have now lost four of their last six matches in the league to sit closer to the relegation zone (10 points) than the top four (12). That latter figure stood at only seven when Erik ten Hag was sacked back in October and Amorim knows everything must improve.
“In 10 games in the Premier League we won two, I know that,” Amorim said. “Imagine this for a fan of Manchester United, imagine this for me. You are getting a new coach who is losing more than the last coach. Imagine that. We need to survive this moment. I know that.
“We are being maybe the worst team in the history of Manchester United. I know that you want headlines but I’m saying that because we have to acknowledge that and to change that. So there you go, your headline.”
