Virgil van Dijk was surprisingly a little subdued when he spoke to Sky Sports after the match, focusing on where he and his team-mates could have improved rather than getting too overexcited.
“It needed a complete performance. I still think, at half-time, we could’ve gone a level up in terms of the intensity and that’s what I’ve said as well,” said the Liverpool captain.
“But to win here how we have done tonight is great for the club and now we focus on the FA Cup. We’re very pleased to go to Wembley again.
“Nights like these with so a lot of things at stake, where you can go to a final again, we don’t take that for granted. I wanted to go there, we all wanted to go there again with the fans. It was a great performance, I really enjoyed it.”
