LINCOLN PARISH, La. (KNOE) – Experience Ruston’s Ruston Lincoln Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) awarded Lincoln Parish Park director James Ramsaur with the 2024 Lincoln Parish Hospitality Award for his continued efforts to make the park one of the most visited destinations in the area.
Since 1999, the Ruston Lincoln CVB has honored community members who have made significant impacts on the Lincoln Parish area. They decided Ramsaur has done exactly this as the Lincoln Parish Park director since 1996.
Ramsaur has spearheaded much of the park’s development in the last 29 years.
“James has truly been a driving force of destination development in our community through the years,” said Amanda Carrier, president and CEO of Experience Ruston. “Not only is he an incredible visionary and advocate for Lincoln Parish Park, but he is an ambassador for tourism to our area. We’re so appreciative of the work he’s done for the park and are proud to call him an industry partner.”
Under Ramsaur’s leadership, the park has seen the development of the park’s cross-country mountain bike trails, the completion of the campground and subsequent upgrades to tent and RV campsites, the addition of a paved walking path around the lake, and the world’s first MTB Waterfall Hub.
Ramsaur’s vision for the MTB Waterfull hub came in 2020, and the vision came to life just four years later.
The Hub features five flow trails designed for riders of all skill levels and was built by world-famous trail designers Rogue Trails.
“It is a great honor for the park to receive this award,” Ramsaur said. “We believed that the new Waterfall Hub and flow trails would bring people to our community from a multi-state area, and in just nine months, the visitation has exceeded our expectations.”
The Ruston Lincoln CVB will present Ramsaur with the Lincoln Parish Hospitality award at the Chamber Awards Banquet on Thursday, February 6, at the Ruston Civic Center.
