INGLEWOOD, Calif. – The Rams (10-7) fell to the Seahawks 30-25 on Sunday at SoFi Stadium.
The loss means Los Angeles will be the No. 4 seed in the NFC and host the loser of Lions-Vikings next weekend in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.
Down five with 3:19 remaining in the fourth quarter, Los Angeles marched to the Seattle 9-yard line to face a 4th-and-3 with 21 seconds left, but quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo’s pass intended for wide receiver Jordan Whittington was incomplete.
Kicker Joshua Karty set the franchise rookie kicker scoring record with his made extra point attempt and four made field goals. He also tied Frank Corral (29) for the most made field goals by a rookie kicker in franchise history.
Starting for Matthew Stafford – who was one of several offensive starters resting – Garoppolo completed 27 of 41 pass attempts for 334 yards with two touchdowns against one interception in the loss.
Here is the complete game recap, presented by Quidel:
Seattle took an early lead on a 4-yard touchdown pass from Smith to wide receiver Jake Bobo with 5:21 left in the first quarter.
The Rams added a 37-yard field goal by Karty to cut their deficit to four late in the first quarter.
