Hoda Kotb is looking forward to the year ahead.
On Jan. 1, in a pre-taped show, Hoda discussed the importance of intentions with co-host Jenna Bush Hager, sharing that her focus is on community in the coming months.
“People are always talking about whether you should make resolutions or not, and I do think there’s something about setting an intention for the year,” Hoda said.
When asked by Jenna what her specific New Year’s resolution is for 2025, Hoda replied, “I’ve noticed about myself that I’m more about doing things in community with people … I just decided that I like community better. I go to workout classes — even if I’m not having big conversations, I’m around people who are feeling the same vibe.”
Hoda also mentioned her continued weekly practice of “Thankful Thursdays” where she carves out time to “do stuff for me,” whether it’s a manicure or a massage.
In response, Jenna recalled a birthday card the longtime anchor had gifted her last November. “It said something to the extent of, ‘Jenna, I want to slow it down like we do in the summer.’ It makes me want to cry, because there’s something about wanting to be with the people we love while we have them,” Jenna said. “We have a couple more weeks together and I plan to enjoy every moment.”
