Gypsy-Rose Blanchard welcomes daughter Aurora with boyfriend Ken Urker Emergency USA

(TMX) – Gypsy-Rose Blanchard and Ken Urker on Wednesday announced the birth of their daughter, Aurora Raina Urker.

“Welcoming 2025 with the greatest gift of all,” Urker wrote on Instagram Wednesday alongside a photo of the couple with their newborn.

Blanchard and Urker first developed a relationship while she was imprisoned for her role in the killing of her mother, Dee Dee. Blanchard’s experience as a victim of Munchausen by proxy, in which her mother subjected her to years of unnecessary medical procedures, has made her the subject of multiple recent documentaries.

After she was released on parole in December 2023 after serving eight years in prison, Blanchard married Ryan Anderson, but the pair soon split, and she rekindled her relationship with Urker. After announcing her pregnancy, Blanchard later revealed the results of a prenatal paternity test confirming Urker is the father.

In an interview with People last month, Blanchard explained the backstory behind Aurora’s name, which some speculated was inspired by “Sleeping Beauty” or the fact that her stepmother Kristy’s dog is named Aurora Grace.

“It’s not because of that,” Blanchard told the outlet.

“Back whenever Ken and I were together seven years ago, both of us have a fascination with the Northern Lights, and the proper term is the Aurora Borealis,” she said. “I think it was maybe in 2018, we wrote each other’s future kid’s name on pieces of paper and Aurora is what we both picked without even knowing each other was picking it.”

Despite their breakup, she remembered the name over the years.

“When we had broken up [it was like] ‘Oh, Aurora is never going to be born.’ A lot of people think the origin is one thing, but they don’t know that little story,” she said.

Although Blanchard currently remains on parole, she has plans to see the Northern Lights with Urker in the future.

“Someday we’re going to see it,” she said. “After I’m off parole we’re going to go. We’re going to go to Sweden.”
