The Indiana football team couldn’t pull the upset over Notre Dame on Friday night, losing 27-17 in the first round of the College Football Playoff.
IU ended its 2024 season at 11-2. In 2023, the Hoosiers went 3-9. Even with the great turnaround from Curt Cignetti and IU, some on social media weren’t fans of Indiana making the Playoff in the first place.
Here is the reaction to Indiana’s loss to Notre Dame.

“Little disappointed, I am, I thought Indiana would put on a better show. I don’t know if they just had a bad night or if they just weren’t that good,” Sean McDonough.

I don’t understand why Curt Cignetti said what he said on GameDay if he was going to coach the game this way.

If you think Indiana looks bad, you should have watched Alabama against Oklahoma 27 days ago.

This entire playoff is experimental. Things will change. Potential reseeding after round one. It may expand to 14 games. Change is inevitable. But let’s make one non negotiable rule — Indiana can never be invited again.

“To be honest, this game has been a little bit of a dud,” Sean McDonough.
Damn, what an indictment. #iufb

I’d add this: This is the most exhausting way to “cover” college football.
Indiana just had the best season in program history. One of the best turnarounds in the sport’s history.
And all the people who claim the “love” college football do is tear it down. Unreal 🤦♂️🤦♂️ https://t.co/B5BSUhvc7i
