Thanksgiving is one of the most beloved holidays in the United States, celebrated every fourth Thursday in November. The holiday traces its roots back to 1621, when Pilgrims and Native Americans came together to share a feast and give thanks for a successful harvest.
The values of unity, gratitude, family, and togetherness are at the heart of Thanksgiving, which has grown into a cherished cultural and national tradition. Thanksgiving Day features feasts with family and friends, big parades throughout the USA, and since 1934 the Detroit Lions playing an American Football game (this year against the Chicago Bears). For people in Montenegro and others unfamiliar with the holiday, Thanksgiving provides a window into American culture and the American way of life.
