Horseshoe Crabs are known as living fossils, they’ve been around for millions of years, play an integral role in a healthy ecosystem, and have provided countless benefits for modern medicine. However, their marked serious population decline requires action. At this forum you will learn about this unique and important species and about how we can advocate for the passage of the Horseshoe Crab Protection Act, now awaiting Governor Hochul’s signature.
Jenn Hartnagel began at the Group for the East End in 2007. She holds a B.A. in geography from James Madison University and an M.S. in environmental science from SUNY’s College of Environmental Science and Forestry. As Director of Conservation Advocacy, Jenn attends public hearings, submits written comments on development proposals, and has led conservation projects.
