A disastrous season to this point for the Cleveland Browns continues on Sunday with a trip to Louisiana to take on the New Orleans Saints, who have equally disappointed thus far in 2024.

The Browns enter Sunday’s game with a 2-7 record and coming off a 27-10 loss at the hands of the Los Angeles Chargers. Quarterback Jameis Winston struggled mightily in the outing, connecting on just 26 of his 46 pass attempts for 235 yards, with one touchdown to three interceptions. The former No. 1 overall pick will have to perform far better on Sunday if Cleveland wants to head home with a win.

The Saints, meanwhile, haven’t fared much better this campaign, boasting a 3-7 record, tied for last in the NFC South with the Carolina Panthers. New Orleans is coming off a win, though, giving the team some momentum heading into the matchup against the Browns.
The Saints most recently defeated the Atlanta Falcons 20-17 with quarterback Derek Carr leading the way. Carr had 269 yards and two touchdowns in the performance, connecting on 16 of his 25 pass attempts. Underrated receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling was dominant against Atlanta, catching three passes for 109 yards and two touchdowns.
Before that, however, New Orleans had lost seven games in a row, including a tough 23-22 defeat to the Panthers in Week 9, who are still very much early on in their rebuilding process. Still, for the Saints to bounce back and take down a then-6-3 Falcons team last week was impressive, and if they’re able to string together a few more wins like that, the postseason might not be out of the question for New Orleans.
