Officials: Six dead in St. Lucie County from tornadoes
St. Lucie County officials confirmed to ABC News that six people died following tornadoes in the area.The fatalities were reported in the Spanish Lakes Country Club Village in northern Fort Pierce, in Lakewood Park. Officials told WPBF 25 News that multiple tornadoes touched down in the Spanish Lakes community, and that search and rescue crews are on their way. Deputies and firefighters are going through the rubble in the community. Before Hurricane Milton made landfall, more than 160 tornado warnings were issued for south Florida on Wednesday, and more than a dozen tornadoes touched down throughout the day.
