Looking at the box score, you wouldn’t think the Rams won this game. The 49ers had six more first downs, 129 more yards, ran 10 more plays and possessed the ball for nearly 7 more minutes than the Rams. Yet, it was the Rams who left SoFi Stadium with a win.
It’s only the second time since 2017 that they won a game where they were outgained by at least 100 total yards, showing how rare a victory this was for Los Angeles. The only other instance was in 2017 when they beat the Jaguars, 27-17, despite being outgained by 140 yards.
