Taylor Swift just gave her fans two gifts at once: a music video for her song “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart” and a behind-the-scenes look at the “Eras Tour.”
On Aug. 20, after finishing the final show of the tour’s European leg in London, a music video for “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart” began playing on Wembley Stadium’s large screen when Swift left the stage. Taylor Nation, a social media account affiliated with Swift’s team, then shared on X that the video would be released at 6 p.m. ET.
The music video shows Swift and her dancers rehearsing for the “Eras Tour,” the pop star’s world tour that kicked off March 2023 in Glendale, Arizona, and has taken her across the country and to Mexico, South America, Australia, Asia and Europe so far.
The pop star is seen in multiple shots rehearsing the tour in sound stages, on the “Eras” set itself, underneath the stage and backstage with her crew.
Fans immediately began flooding social media with clips from the London viewing of the music video.
“Oh BTS Taylor you are so highly anticipated,” wrote on fan on X.
“We are so ready!” wrote another.
“We Can Do It With A Broken Heart” is from Swift’s album “The Tortured Poets Department,” which was released April 19, 2024. The song seemingly refers to performing her “Eras” shows while heartbroken from a relationship. Fans have speculated that is is about either Joe Alwyn, who Swift dated for six years before their split became public in April 2023, or Matty Healy, whom she was rumored to be dating soon after.
Swift is now dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who made an appearance onstage at the “Eras Tour” in June during a skit just before the singer performed “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart” in London.
With the conclusion of the European leg, Swift will take a nearly two-month break before beginning the last stretch of tour dates in Canada and other cities in the United States. The tour will conclude Dec. 8, 2024, in Vancouver.
